What is Abstract Backpack?It’s a good question and one I ask myself every time I write.For everyone it’s different and that is the beauty of the concept.Abstract Backpack originally developed as a theme for my self-titled debut album.Later, it blossomed into something I couldn’t abandon.It had to continue… I used to daydream weaving in and out of BART & MUNI transit lines in San Francisco about stray items left behind by gypsy travelers.What would you find in that “abstract backpack” kicked to the corner or left behind on that seat?Maybe an old photograph, journal, weathered stuffed animal, clothing, food, drug paraphernalia?Always too scared to pick it up.I thought…like that backpack what would you find in my albums?Could be anything.I adapted the concept and ran with it.
